I'm living my dream everyday.
My Favourite Brunch Haunt | Wednesday, March 23, 2011 @ 6:32 PM

Hi guys, once again I'm gonna rave about my favourite brunch haunt, which serves the best Eggs Benedict in town!

Yes, I know that I'm not doing myself a favour in curbing my homesickness here :/ Gee, I can spend the entire semester blogging about my summer break. It's really heart-warming to recall all the wonderful dates that I had with you guys!

On my second visit to Hacienda, I brought one of my best friends to partake in a calorific feast with me. Meet my hairy foodie partner-in-crime, Neo! She's a small girl with a big heart :)

I love going on foodie trails with her because...
  1. She has a sweet tooth like me.
  2. She appreciates food photography.
  3. She ain't picky with her food.
  4. She'll try her best to clear the leftovers with me. It's all about teamwork baby.
  5. She is one of my trusty confidants.

THE CHOW DOWN

Crab & Prawn sandwich - mixed in mayo sauce and served on Ciabatta bread
Having read many positive reviews about their sandwiches, this dish surely did not disappoint! We enjoyed the tangy side salad, which was really delicious. Neo isn't a fan of rocket greens but she was tucking happily into the salad! I really wanna try their other popular sandwiches...

Eggs Royale - perfect poached eggs with smoked salmon atop crusty English muffins :)
I can't decide if I prefer this dish to their Eggs Benedict since both dishes hit the right spots, but one thing's for sure: I'm a faithful egg lover! Try both dishes if you can :] Gonna prepare steamed egg with minced pork for the first time sometime soon!

Because we're a pair of camera-friendly besties...

Thumbs up for their Carrot Cake! It was moist on the inside and very rich in flavour. To top it off, their yummy cream cheese frosting wasn't too overbearing on our taste buds.

Two greedy peas in a pod :)

Sticky Date Pudding - served with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with butterscotch sauce and topped with walnuts (Random fact: Walnuts are good for your brains)
This is one of the star attractions among their desserts but we thought that the butterscotch sauce made the dessert too sweet for our liking. As you can see from the photo, that's a copious amount of butterscotch sauce! We definitely prefer the sticky date pudding from Marmalade Pantry or P.S Cafe :D

A brief chat with one of their staff revealed that Hacienda is the sister company of Privé!

O yes, do try their scones if you dine here and let me know if they're good! They were not available on both occasions when I visited.

After lunch, we proceeded to do our favourite girly thing: Camwhoreee :D

Evidence of me being a big bully!
I made Neo shift the tables and chairs around because I wanted to capture an "artsy" shot of us looking out into the greenery. Haha, it is not difficult to guess that I failed. Can a best friend be defined as one who is willing to trade her sanity monetarily for a smile on your face? :)

Now, you guys know of an interesting new spot to camwhore in Dempsey! This area is located a few steps away from the restaurant beside their bar, which I presume opens for business in the night.
The only killjoy was the abundance of blood-sucking mosquitoes.

Fashion with Foggiare #10

Hahaha, don't regurgitate your breakfast/lunch/dinner. Thanks neo for being my patient camerawoman!

The second outfit that I have chosen to review for March is the Peterpan Romper in Navy ($33.90). This item is currently sold out in navy but it is still available in beige, which I reckon will be a perfect shade for people with a healthy tan.

You might not be able to see it clearly from the photos below but the vintage gold trim white buttons are gorgeous! Obviously, the Peter Pan collar -which brings to mind a sense of childlike innocence- is the unique feature of the outfit. Don't you just love how infinite fashion is? Anything that is in style today might be out of style tomorrow but you can never be too sure when you'll see it on the runways again.

I couldn't resist putting a flower in my hair :D
And no...I don't wish that I'm a punk rocker with flowers in my hair.

I matched the outfit with a brown woven belt because I personally believe that simplicity complements the romper style best.

Yes, I really mean it whenever I sign off with "big bear hugs".
Look at those welcoming open arms...*flails*

Match it with a blazor and you're ready for a high tea or shopping date with your girlfriends :]

I feel really positive about 2011 with so many things to look forward to. I have a good piece of news to share but I shall contain my excitement until it becomes a reality :D Okay, I actually couldn't contain my initial excitement and have already blurted it to a few friends.

Happy midweek to one and all!
Misses & big bear hugs..
