Day trip to Hanging Rock - Macedon Ranges

A friendly advice to anyone who is planning to visit this nature site, please be dressed in appropriate attire meant for trekking because it's quite a bumpy walk up to the rocks!

Brunch at Hanging Rock Picnic Cafe

Their desserts were disappointing...Skip 'em!

Sigh pie, I miss the sticky date pudding from P.S Cafe & Marmalade Pantry! Does anyone know anywhere in Singapore that serves a legendary version of the sticky date pudding?

Hanging Rock is said to be one of the best examples in the world of a volcanic feature known as a mamelon. It was formed six million years ago when a particularly stiff type of lava formed a rounded pile of layers on the surface as it was squeezed through a narrow vent in the earth.

The lava in Hanging Rock has a particularly high soda content and the action of rainwater has resulted in an unusual rock known as solvsbergite, or soda trachyte, which is the same rock found at the nearby Camel's Hump on Mt. Macedon.

(This type of rock is only found in outside of the region in Norway & Sweden.)

We climbed, we trekked, we panted, we perspired, we gazed, I slipped, and we got lost among the towering rocks. All in all, it was quite a fun albeit rocky adventure :)

In this case, it's Melbourne 1-0 Singapore.
Heh, you don't expect to be greeted by such a breathtaking view from the top of Bukit Timah hill, right?

P.S. Have a great weekend guys!

Love, Serene
