I'm living my dream everyday.

TONIGHT, I'M MENTALLY DATING YOU.

Recapping our final date in July before J left for Perth...
Standing sushi bars are commonplace in Japan.
This is a franchise outlet from its initial outlet at Raffles Place. I've been meaning to dine here for awhile and I'm glad we set aside a weekday afternoon to visit this restaurant.

Contrary to its name, this outlet at SAM comes fully furnished with tables and chairs, unlike its initial outlet. We missed the lunchtime crowd because it was near mid-noon by the time we arrived at the restaurant! It was nice to dine in such a peaceful environment, which is what you'll never be able to experience at Sushi Tei...

We started our meal on a refreshing note with some fresh greens...
The salad dressing was really good!

Our must-order dish when we're having Japanese cuisine :)
Freshness of the さしみ slices guaranteed!

This dish bears a close resemblance to one of the sushi platter dishes at Sushi Tei, though the ingredients definitely differ from each other. Seared salmon + fish roe + I can't remember what was stuffed within the rice portion definitely made for a good combination! I really love the melt-in-your-mouth texture of seared salmon.

This is one of their popular skewer dishes. I loved the mushrooms!
Pity I'm not a fan of bacon...Anyway, this bacon-wrapped asparagus on a skewer combo has been done to death!

Beef sukiyaki, which came with a yummy broth!

After lunch, we visited its next-door neighbour, Food for Thought cafe.
If I ain't wrong, this cafe supports many meaningful causes...Spotted a visibly older waiter working in the restaurant too. No wonder the given name.

Anyway, there are a couple of interesting items to browse on the shelves while you wait for your food to be served! The cute Tutu-kueh erasers ($2) were impossible to miss. I contemplated buying one as a memorabilia but changed my mind when I thought about the messy state of my study table at home...

We weren't impressed with their chocolate fudge cake. Something was missing, though I can't quite put my finger on it. It wasn't awful per se...I guess one would expect a better quality cake given the amount of effort that has been put into sprucing up the interior of the restaurant.

From my observation, people with single eyelid seem to have long eyelashes...

No mind-blowing cake, no worries!
A Polaroid moment to lift our moods :)

あなたは私を幸せにします。
(I learnt this grammar structure in jap class last week! :D)
JAP 101: 私 is the kanji for (watashi), which translates to "I"

Hehe, somebody obviously ate more than what his stomach could bear...

Sigh, it's nearing 2am and I gotta be up at 730am tomorrow for my most dreaded class of the week.
I really dread crawling out of bed for a 9am class on a cold morning...
Anyway, XX and Mr Sunshine took a relaxing bath today.
They shall look their finest to greet Chewy.

I'm impossible.
I have yet to decide on the topic for my essay and here I am...blogging this entry.
I really miss going on a date with J.
Anyway, we're turning four in two days' time, which explains why he bought a return ticket to spend a weekend in Melbourne with me :)
Just one comm essay to clear and a couple more runs to complete before it's reunion time!
Can't wait to enjoy a GASTRONOMICAL WEEKEND with J. I'm only disciplined when food is my incentive!!!
Have a blessed week ahead guys!
Love, Serene
