♥ OUR DAY TRIP TO MOUNT DANDENONG ♥
Hiiiii guys!
I'm in good spirits now because I'm down to my final two assessments for the semester, having submitted my debate assignment. I'm clearly feeling very relaxed now. Imagine me listening to my favourite songs in bed, with a cooling mask on my face...That's me now, alright! :)
I feel like I'm about to perspire though.
It's a considerably warm tonight at 16 degrees celsius, and the bottom half of my body is under the blanket. I like the feeling of having my legs and toes under the blanket. Notwithstanding the heat and humidity in Singapore, I have to pull the blanket over my legs when I sleep, even without the air-con switched on. It gives me a sense of cosiness and security :)
Moving on...
Day 3 of Ang's visit to Melbourne :)
We planned a day trip to Mt Dandenong to have the legendary scones at Miss Marples Tea Room. Bernice, Ang, and I piled into ZY's car while Randall drove Mal's car...because Mal stayed up all night to complete his assignment! Mal was quite talkative and hyper for a sleepless person that day.
During our journey to Mt Dan, I spotted a cute doggie on the road!
To get this doggie's attention...I shouted its name! Obviously, I did not know its name so I shouted "DOGGIEEEEEEE!!!" Immediately, it turned to look at me and everyone in the car erupted in laughter. It was quite a funny moment :) I like its brown fur! Carpet-worthy fur. I don't mean it in a sadistic way.
I've observed that ZY has this habit of gripping only the bottom part of the steering wheel with one hand when he drives on a straight road! Guess it speaks volume about his confidence. My Dad will probably ban me from driving if I were to do this. Anyway, I have a goal for myself in 2012! That is to learn how to do parallel parking without panicking :)

Mal, ZY and Randall

Yummy bread fingers and shepherd's pie :)

Mal needs to get into the habit of ironing his shirts!
As his former housie, I can attest to the fact that he has never once ironed his shirt. He would even wear a shirt, which has as many creases as what have you on a 100-year-old grandmother's face, to a club!
The not-so-legendary scones...
YES, THESE ARE ACTUALLY SCONES, NOT BUTTER SLICES OR WHAT NOT.
We were pretty disappointed because we were expecting scones in their conventional form.
Loved the homemade raspberry jam though ♥
My two ex-housies!
Come to think of it, I've troubled both of them on too many occasions in 2010, yet they never once complained! Throughout 2010, I never had to take out the garbage because the guys took it upon themselves to do it. No one told me about it! Somehow, the thought of garbage disposal never once crossed my mind when I was living with them. It was only after moving in with the girls this year, that I found out about how we would have to take turns to take the garbage and recycled items out into the bins, and wheel the bins to the side of the road for garbage collection when the garbage truck comes by on Fridays.
They're really nice when they put on their best behaviour towards me :)
Both of them, including Bernice, would incessantly remind me of my Auntie status to ZY! Well true enough, I am his Auntie and he is my nephew but can we do away with the customary titles? Also, they try all means to prove to me that I'm an Auntie - in every sense of the word. Haha, I don't shy away from the fact that I 1) always ask for water/condiment refills when I dine outside, 2) fasten my walking pace to beat others to a queue, 3) love a good bargain...But isn't it human to have these traits? These are innate traits that all women should be proud of! :D

Haha, Bernice and I once debated over our height because she mentioned that we were of the same height! How cute. I will miss her obaasan antics when she returns to Melb next year :(
After brunch, we explored the shops in the vicinity.
私の日本語のクラスメート。時々、彼女はちょっと愚かです。

The polka-dotted tea cup completed the look for Bernice's get-up :)
Hit by a sudden craving for chai latte!!! Lux Biteeee....

We went trigger-happy in this shop because their display set-ups were really gorgeous. Kudos to the creative brains behind the interior decor!

Aussie's take on our traditional 风油!

Hehe, we are seasoned jumpers for the camera :)

SAYS WHO ALL GUYS ARE CAMERA-SHY?
I guess the presence of us (camwhores) put them in the mood for a trigger-happy afternoon :)

Mal's hay-wired brains, stemming from the sleepless night before, inspired him to climb this tree. Fortunately for him and the two guys, he changed his mind after assessing the level of difficulty! He was so enthusiastic about climbing the tree! Just check him out in his socks...

On the way home, Mal made a detour to the new IKEA warehouse in Clayton! He wanted to grab his $1 hotdog bun while I wanted to claim my free drink. Ang tried Solo for the first time too! Solo is probably my favourite soda drink because of its sour lemonade flavour. I don't fancy soda drinks in general. Neither do I fancy hot coffee much.
Ang and I headed out for our first one-to-one meal in my neighbourhood! I brought her to have Korean cuisine at Kang Na Roo :) This restaurant has many decent dishes on their menu.
Here is Ang....posing with all of the six different side dishes!

It was such an enjoyable shared feast for us, especially on a cold night :)
This sums up Ang's third day in Melb! :)
Sigh, I gotta start cracking on my comm essay soon, which so happens to be the final academic essay that I'm tasked to do. Have a great weekend guys!
Happy thought: I'll be home for good nearly two months later, exactly a week before I turn 22! YAAAAYYYY COUNT ON ME, SINGAPORE.
I LOVE MY HOMELAND!!!
P.S. Hi Chewy, I lied. Here's a little shoutout to you! Good luck with your FA assignment, munchkins. I'm proud of you in every way :)
Love, Serene
