Before the end of my summer break, I went for a hair makeover at IN@Backstage
to have curly tresses ready for Fall!
A few days before the treatment, I visited the salon and received an in-depth consultation
with its owner, Judy. We discussed some of my hair woes and explored a few different
possibilities for the hair makeover.

Just a brief introduction here: The salon first opened its doors at Forum mall in 1991 and
has come a long way since then, growing in both staff strength and customer base.
In 2005, the salon was relocated to Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade.

Judy is the brains behind the chic interior design of the salon. I like how the design
concept is east meets west, which made me feel at home. Although it is located in
the heart of the city, it certainly isn't an upscale salon frequented only by the rich and
famous. I spotted a young customer -around my age- having a haircut while I was
receiving my perm treatment!

The makeover process begins...
Judy gave my hair a trim, layered it to add volume and reduced my overgrown fringe
to neater bangs.
The entire process stretched across approximately three-and-a-half hours. During
this time, Judy's hairstylist worked his magic on my mane while she inspected my hair
from time to time. If I had to pick the best bits of my experience here, it would have to be
the lovely customer service and its staff's willingness to go the extra mile to create an
enjoyable experience for me.
Halfway through the treatment, I found myself dozing off so I tried to stay awake by
browsing through some magazines and it worked! I reckon nodding off literally would
have gotten in the way of my hairstylist who was hard at work. Imagine my head
bobbing up and down...

Ta-dah, the wait is finally over! Here's Judy & I with my new, voluminous hairstyle :)
I will be sharing with you guys about the post-treatment hair maintenance and a few
different styles to rock curly hair! The curls have loosened up and they look more
natural now :)
