Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring, becomes a the rose
HIIIIIII GUYS!
I'm taking a break from my journ assignment to relieve some frazzled nerves. It's nice to wind down with my favourite tracks from Westlife. Sigh, my back is aching from this terrible sitting posture that I've had for the past few hours.
If you aren't following me on Twitter, you wouldn't have known that I ate plain wholemeal bread in school for the first time. Actually, eating plain wholemeal bread is a first for me. The bread actually tasted damn good on its own. Sigh, I only have myself to blame for doing my journ assignment (due tomorrow) at the eleventh hour.
I HAD TO FINISH MY DRAMA MARATHON. And yes, I finished it last night :) I believe in true love and fairytale endings, which explains why Taiwanese idol dramas are my cup of tea on sad/boring days. I'm lucky to discover a stack of VCDs in the cupboard along the corridor outside my room. I think they belong to a previous tenant.
Things have been looking up for me recently. I've been in a good mood ever since I s
September looks set to be an awesome month with a weekend with J and a week of catching up with my best friend, Miss Ang, better known as the fussy girl who commented that the Instagram effects made my food photos appear stale. Thanks a lot, Ang!
So here's a recap of my brunch date with Bernice last weekend. I woke up to her face on three consecutive mornings because I slept over at her place for a night and she slept over at mine for two nights. I know what is on your mind... Don't we have to go to school?!
*Waves our three-day week timetable :D*
SPRING IS NEARING! SPRING IS NEARING! SPRING IS NEARING!

This is Bernice Gao, my foodie partner-in-crime.
She likes leopard preens, and so do I.

Brunch at Dead Man Espresso
(I know, what's up with the name right? This brunch haunt is known for its good quality coffee.)

Girly talks + hearty brunch = ♥

Bernice enjoyed her cuppa mocha.
I LOVED MY CHAI LATTE!
I think Dead Man Espresso serves a meaner version of Chai latte than Lux Bite, which serves quality Chai latte too! :) I love how I could decide for myself how much honey I wanted in my Skinny Chai. Yep, the waitress actually mentioned "SKINNY CHAI" when she repeated our order. For obvious reasons, I request for skim milk whenever I order hot milky drinks :D
Bernice was checking him out during our brunch.
Her caption for this photo that she uploaded on FB reads: SUPER CUTE BARISTA.
RIGHT.

Raisin scones :D
We really enjoyed their homemade jam!

Toasted sandwich with three kinds of Spanish cheese! Good stuff...I wanna be a cheese connoisseur! I think smelly cheeses are so yummyyyyyy.
Egg omelette, which was equally satisfying too!
After brunch, we went shopping at South Wharf DFO.
This was the view that greeted us on the way back to her place.
Nutri-grain is ♥
We kept snacking on it while studying for our jap kanji test!

I'd initially wanted to bring B to have the best jap cuisine in Melbourne (at least to my knowledge)...Well, unfortunately for us, the restaurant is closed on Mondays :(
So we settled for lunch at Kimchi Hut...
This is definitely the safest bet at a Korean restaurant!
I can't think of how this dish can go wrong, save for exceptions like raw or burnt meat.
This was good! Fish eggs with veggie and seafood in spicy soup. I ♥ the chewiness of the fish eggs! This is an uncommon dish at a Korean restaurant.
(ANG, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PHOTO? Does the food look stale? :p )

Yesterday night, I went out with my housies to catch the Glee concert movie (3D). It was probably the shortest movie that I've ever watched but it was good nonetheless!
One more day to the weekend, hang in there guys!!!
Enjoy your long weekend back home, and remember to cast your presidential vote wisely!
P.S. Extra motivation to exercise and get into better shape to greet J by the time he arrives! Gonna keep late-night snacking to a minimum :)
