I'm living my dream everyday.
HOPETOUN TEA ROOMS | Monday, June 13, 2011 @ 6:26 PM
也许爱在梦的另一端, 无法存活在真实的空间
I've been meaning to blog about my visit to Hopetoun Tea Rooms with B & Elle sometime ago in April, so here it goes...
Located at the Block Arcade along Collins Street, it is impossible to miss this tearoom cafe when you stroll through the building because of its vibrant window display of desserts. We went during the crowded lunchtime on a Saturday but were lucky that we didn't wait too long to be seated :)
Its vintage interior decor is a visual splendour!
Kicked off our meal with some fresh scones :)
Accompanied by a few pots of fruity flavoured tea...
Well, I can't remember what is the flavour of the tea that we ordered but it sure tasted lovely! Damn, we'd better take down the names of the dishes and beverages when we write reviews on our food blog, B! Guess I gotta be more mindful since I have a blur partner-in-crime. Yes, no, Blurnice?
Pan-fried rockling fillet, served with kipfler potates and coated with tahini and yoghurt, topped with miniature coriander, and walnut salad. Wow, what a mouthful. I had to zoom into the photo of the hanging chef's menu pictured three photos above. Haha, I'm having second thoughts about starting a food blog...
Anyway, this dish tasted really delicious.
Thumbs up for its roast beef sirloin sandwich!
Please excuse us.

IMHO, the cakes at Hopetoun are rather overpriced for $7.50 and above a slice :/
B's strawberry cheesecake
I had to have their lemon tart...just because I was craving for one then.
Elle's berry tart
I enjoyed their choices of desserts more than my own :/ That is not to say that the lemon tart was an absolute disappointment. Somehow, it lacked the oomph factor and could have been a tad sweeter. I hope to revisit this place to try their chocolate desserts someday! The bill came up to approximately 30bucks/pax.

It is now impossible to stroll on the streets with bared arms :*(
Our friendship bracelet :)

I enjoy B's company because we share similar interests, including learning jap, indulging in a nice meal, camwhoring, shopping, crapping, to name a few. So glad that we're gonna see each other for at least four hours a week next semester since we've enrolled in the same jap sem/tut/lecture slots! I'm seeing her for half of my curriculum time!

Gorgeous....and Ginormous.
I don't wanna chalk up bad karma points here. Haha, honestly, I snapped the last photo because I was amused by his get-up, which made him stand out from the crowd. Let me know if he reminds you of someone, and I'll let you know if we're thinking along the same line...

Did. this. toddler. melt. your. heart. in. a. split. second. like. how. he. melted. mine? (:

Every tourist to Melbourne has to have at least a photo of themselves with the colourful wall graffiti, which you can find at almost every turn in the city!
That night, B was revising her work so I got trigger-happy around her house to entertain myself. During our sleepover dates, we often end up lying on her bed and chatting for hours in the darkness. I'm always the first to k.o but the first to wake up too! Gee, we overslept for our camberwell date yesterday :/

Ten more days to my jap exam and I have yet to touch my notes. I know I'm allowing complacency to set in here but I don't feel motivated to start on my revision yet. Maybe later? Maybe tomorrow? Or maybe the day after?
On a happier note, I'm ten sleeps away from home! Yayzzers. I've already started scribbling down agreed dates in my organiser :)
I hope that you're feeling tempted to grab a bite now after seeing all these delicious photos :p
If so, tell me what you've succumbed to :)
God bless you and have a lovely week ahead!
