Mari kita rakyat Singapura
Sama-sama menuju bahagia
Cita-cita kita yang mulia
Berjaya Singapura
Marilah kita bersatu
Dengan semangat yang baru
Semua kita berseru
Majulah Singapura
Majulah Singapura

This year's NDP celebration was held at a club, Billboard The Venue.

We each received the NDP goodies bag at the entrance but I left it at the club because I have no use for it! No snacks nor vouchers could be found in it. I'm your quintessential Singaporean. No snacks or vouchers or drink = not enticing! Who needs a poncho or a notebook right? Speaking of which, it has been years since I wore a poncho out on a rainy day! Hehe, I remember wearing them on the walk to my kindergarten on rainy days. How cute!

All the photos in this entry were snapped by Gary, save for one which I stole from a random photog's album. Credits go to both photographers for the lovely photos.

Bernice and I, with a blurry image of HRM lurking in the background. It was a mini mass commies reunion with Ivan the Great present too! Ivan displayed an unsurprising behaviour on the dancefloor when he acted like a clown, especially when the DJ spun some mambo tracks.

Yep, it's old news that I love pictures of shoes union!

We agreed that the catered dinner was satisfying with food that reminded us of home. Think curry puff, beef rendang, curry chicken, mee goreng etc. I usually prefer to have soupy local dishes like YTF and yupianmeefen but I guess it's nice to have something different for a change.

Tummies filled, smiles on the house!

Just wanted to comment that women are generally more willing to go the extra mile to show their patriotism. Correct me if I'm wrong but I see more shades of black than red in this photo...

Bambi-eyed beauty, Dawn Yeoh, was one of the special guests of the night. Kudos to Gary for accepting the challenge and giving her the mini flag midway through her performance!

They performed a Chinese love duet together.
It was an oldie song by Jacky Cheung, 你最珍贵

Butter Factory resident DJ flew in to Melbourne to join us for the post-partying. Music was great that night!

Party rock is in the houseeeee tonight...

Comical moments on the dancefloor...

Bernice hates this photo of herself groooooving to the music but I think that it's a really cute shot of her showing off her dancing moves. Pictured beside her is Eric's pretty sister, Luciana, who appears impressed...or not?

Bored people text on the dancefloor

On my right is Gary, our trusty photographer!

All in all, I had a great night with everyone.

This event marked my final attendance at the NDP celebration in Melbourne. Currently, I'm feeling rather homesick and this shouldn't be the case, especially when it's my final semester. I'm 25% done with the semester and I'm counting down the weeks to the end of the semester, or rather, my trip to Perth. Surely, I'll miss the freedom and relaxing pace of life here but nothing beats home. NOTHING. I miss my family so much. I miss spending quality time with Chewy. I miss my girlfriends. I miss tucking into cheap hawker fare and I'm aware that I'm reiterating what I wrote on my blog countless of times previously...

If it's any consolation, Ang will be here at the end of next month. I'm sure that her presence will inject some much-needed positivity in my life. Right, this is turning into some kinda virtual pep talk, complete in a monologist fashion no less. Just need to sulk less, give this final semester my best shot and do my family proud. My jaded appetite for learning is a far cry from its initial voracious state. I never knew that being in low spirits can be so mentally-exhausting. That being said, gotta keep my chin up! :]

Have a blessed week ahead guys.
Week four of school, bring it onnnnnn.
