"The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think."

 Horace Walpole

Why hello there,

I’ve been meaning to write for the longest time.

I’m unsure how time has managed to slip through my fingers so quickly but life has been treating me well, though I’m definitely shortchanged of rest – youth knows no pain / fatigue. I remember all the wintry nights spent curled up in bed sharing about my life in Melbourne through countless of blog entries. So many things have changed since a year ago, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

In the blink of an eye, it has been four months since I started flying.

I don’t think that this job has changed me, but instead allowed me to find myself. I’ve learnt new things about myself and experienced moments that I could only dream of in my wildest imaginations a year ago. I’ve learnt to collect moments alongside tangible souvenirs – most of which are edible, much to the delight of my sweet tooth.

I am enjoying this opportunity to eat my way around the world, from a German Apfelstrudel in Munich to a piping hot bowl of ramen in the heart of Tokyo. I can wax lyrical about the joys and woes of my job but few will truly understand because afterall, living out of a suitcase is living life off the beaten path.

However, it does get on my nerves when outsiders make assumptions about my role as a service provider based on sweeping generalisations that been made by critics who were quick to judge. If I could, I’d sit every naysayer down and have a chat with them but I’m over such unhappiness, however slight, stemming from such trivialities. It’s impossible to please everyone, especially when you’re looking at an opinionated individual like yours truly. Moving on…

So, I’ve decided to resume blogging with an open mind like I once did. I’ve always loved translating my thoughts into words and this love is not about to fade away with age or time. It warms my heart to know that there are people who bother to check this space for updates. Well, I will make an effort to blog more often. I will...To be honest, I've been "blogging" through my shared photos on Instagram, which explains the two-and-a-half month hiatus from blogging. So if you'd like to be in the know on what's happening in my life, head over to Instagram. My username is @serenechai ;)

On a side note, here's an entry that I wrote for B on my love-hate relationship with food in August.

Join me on my adventures around the world as I trip over rainbows and walk on sunshine!

Love, S
