Hiiii guys!
This is one of my favourite shopping websites because it features products from some of my favourite designers. Since it doesn't cost a single cent to gawk at some of the marvelous creations that are out of my pocket's reach, I spend a fair amount of my leisure time ogling at my favourite items. Men probably wouldn't get it, but some of the images really give great aesthetic pleasure.
Honestly, I think it's too much work to keep up with the ever-changing fashion trends if you aren't a fashion insider. Keeping up with the latest trends is one thing, while looking every inch of a fashionista is another.
I've embraced the fact that I'm the kind who will choose comfort over beauty most of the time. Being a trendsetter isn't what I'm cut out to be. I'm contented being the girl on the street who clads herself in clothes she deems flattering to her figure, or pleasing to her eyes.
For one, it's impossible to be seen impeccably dressed all the time unless you're a role model, and have a certain reputation to live up to. Think Lady Obama or Carla Bruni. Also, draping yourself in designer wear from head to toe isn't exactly a wallet-friendly hobby. So where does this leave us ordinary folks who want to feel good without busting our shopping budgets?
We turn to self-manufactured clothes from blog shops and the like. So, I don't see what is the fuss about fashion snobs who turn their noses up at manufactured clothes that are inspired by top fashion labels. I don't see a wrong in lending a designer's idea, then adding a personal touch to an original creation. Best yet, this allows us consumers to choose from a wider range of colours and designs! Don't you think that exclusivity breeds curiosity isolation, which often limits our choices?
The way I see it, if you like a certain style, there is always a time to accommodate it. Why let your style be dictated by said fashion writers and critics? For example, feline prints are definitely to my liking. Since it's part of this season's trends, well, good for me. Say if it wasn't, will I still wear my catty preens out? Hell yeah. There is never a right or wrong time to let your style shine through.
Anyway, I've said my piece.
I don't see why fashion snobs should exist.
Get off your high horses and take a cue from us ordinary folks :)
In my humble opinion, the best possible way to dress yourself up isn't with haute couture wear, but a healthy dose of confidence. Confidence comes free anyway. Kiasu Singaporeans like you and me, good on us! ;)

P.S. It's easy to forget how sexy self-confidence is. "Confidence is sexy" is gonna be one of my life's mantras!
Love, Serene
